Folie prägen (Folienkarte)

Eine weitere Möglichkeit mit Folie zu arbeiten ist diese zu prägen. Das geht total einfach, wenn man eine Schneidemaschine wie die Cuttlebug und Co. besitzt! Ihr benötigt einen Prägefolder und ein Stück Folie natürlich (ggf. auch noch Sandpapier).

Another option is to emboss the acetate. This is really easy if you have a cutting tool like a Cuttlebug. You need an embossing folder, a piece of acetate (and sanding paper if you want).

Die Folie kommt dann ganz normal wie auch der Cardstock in den Prägefolder und wird geprägt. Meine Folie hat eine Stärke von 0,5-0,7mm und lässt sich ohne Kraftaufwand ganz wunderbar prägen.

It's the same like embossing cardstock this way. You have to add the acetate into the embossing folder and then crank it through your machine. My acetate is 0,5-0,7mm thick and it's so easy to emboss.

Und das Ergebnis schaut klasse aus, nicht wahr? Die Folie wird an den Prägungen nämlich weiß und das hat einen ganz besonderen Effekt.

And the result is great, ins't it? The acetate gets white at the embossed spaces and this lis looking really special.

Wer mag, der kann die erhöhten Flächen nun noch mit Sandpapier bearbeiten, dann wird die Folie an diesen Stellen matt und noch heller.

If you want you can now sand the higher spaces with sanding paper to get a matte look. The sanded spaces become whiter then.

Und man kann die Folie auch geprägt noch mit Spellbinders und Co. stanzen. Hier habe ich die Spellbinders Labels 8 dafür genommen. An einigen Stellen muss man ggf. mit der Schere nachschneiden. Ich würde empfehlen die Kanten nach dem Stanzen auf jeden Fall noch einmal abzuschmirgeln, um scharfe Kanten zu vermeiden.

And you can also cut the acetate with Spellbinders and Co. Here I used Spellbinders Labels 8. On some spaces I had to use my scissors but in the end it's working great. Please don't forget to sand the edges after cutting to get sharp edges away.

Mit Folie kann man sich auch seine eigenen "Ghost Shapes" herstellen. Wer mag, kann sich Blumen, Schmetterlinge, Herzen und Co. einfach aus Folie ausstanzen. Die "Ghost Shapes" können dann natürlich auch geprägt oder bestempelt werden. So spart man ein wenig Geld und hat individuelle Dekorationen für seine Karten.

You can also make your own "ghost shapes" with acetate. If you want you kann make your own flowers, butterflies, hearts & Co. from acetate you only need the matching shapes. Of course you can emboss or stamp on your "ghost shapes". So you can safe some money and you'll have individual decorations for your cards.
