Smaller cards are a good alternation to normal cards. They are perfect if you don't have much time! But they are great in all cases because you don't have to pay as much shipping for small square cards than for the 6x6" cards (here in Germany). And sometimes you have smaller images which are looking nicer on smaller cards, too.

You need:
Spellbinders or Nestabilities
Cutting machine
Bonefolder
Cardstock
***
First you have to measure how big your cardstock has to be for the cutting die you want to use for your card's base. Then fold the cardstock at the matching space...
***
... so that you get a base for a folded card. Of course you can cut your cardstock's width before folding! I fold the whole length because I wanted to cut out more of these card's bases.
***
Now lay your cutting die on your folded cardstock. My folding is in this case on the top! It's really important that you check out the right position of your cutting die. You CAN't cut off the edge with the folding because then you don't get a folded card but two pieces of cardstock!
***
It's the best to fix the cutting die onto your cardstock. This way it can't move when cutting the cardstock. I always use scotch tape which I ass severtal times to my finger and remove it before using it for my cardstock. If you use fresh scotch tape it could ruin your cardstock's surface when taking it off.
***
Now cut out your card's base. If it isn't goinf through both layers of cardstock just crank the whole thing through your cutting machine again. I used two layers of file cards under the Spellbinder to get more pressure.
***
If you, like I did, use used cutting plates you could get a backside like this. You should use newer cutting plates if you want to have smooth backsides.
***
***
And that's it! The mini card's base is finished. If you don't like that one side hasn't the same scalloped edge just cut out the same shape again and add it on top! Now you still have to decorate your card. Maybe my tipps for "Spellbinders/Nestabilities frames" und "Spellbinders - big images" will help you.

This is my card I made from the card's base shown above. Did you notice that this cutie is holding Spellbinders (and a Copic) in her hands? This image seems to be perfect for my tutorial *giggle*.
Wenn euch die Minikärtchen zu klein sind, dann nehmt doch einfach die Megabilities, damit bekommt ihr ca. A6 große Karten!

If you don't like such small cards you can also use the Megabilities, then you get bigger cards which are still fitting into a normal envelope.
